18 Hours Yoga Wheel Teacher Training Course

ABOUT THE TRAINING

Yoga Wheel is a rigid prop with a hollow, circular shape initially created by Sri Dharma Mittra and his son Yoga Vargas in 2014. It has become the most revolutionary and popular yoga prop among practitioners to evolve their scope of practices. 

 

As it is designed specifically to shape the contours and curves of your body, its versatility offers tons of advantages to meet your yoga needs. It is particularly practical at supporting, assisting, lengthening your body through wide range of motion for a whole Asana practice at any level.

 

This 18 hours Yoga Wheel teacher training will discuss topics including but not limited to the foundation and practical usage of the Yoga Wheel, functional anatomy, teaching methodology, safety management and sequencing techniques. This course is designed for Yoga instructors to expand their teaching repertoire and deepen their knowledge as well as Yoga Practitioners to deepen their body awareness and experience with Yoga Wheel 

 

Language:      Bilingual with English manual

 

Audience:       Suitable for practitioners with 3+ months of Yoga practice 

    Maximum participants 20 

 

*Yoga Alliance Accredited certificate will be distributed upon completion to count towards continuing education hours.

      (8.5 hour per day with 1 hour lunch 12:30 - 1:30pm)

  • Yoga Wheel Background (History, Development, Yoga Philosophy)

  • Teaching Methodology

  • 1.5 hour Yoga Wheel Class (Strengthening)

  • Guiding Principles of Yoga Wheel: Flexibility, Strength, Stretch

  • Class Management: Cueing, Class Planning, Spotting and Management, Safety Precautions

  • Anatomy and Biomechanics

  • Art of Sequencing

  • Practicum 

  • 1 hour of Yoga Wheel Class (Stretching)

  • Advanced Sequence

  • Anatomy and Biomechanics

  • Sequence Breakdown and Analysis

  • Practicum 

  • Teaching Assessment (20 mins each)

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Joanne Haye Wu is a well-developed Yoga Teacher and Fitness Trainer known for her comprehensive knowledge, down-to-earth mindset and ability to empower students on a journey above and beyond their initial goals. She believes Yoga is more than a practice. It is also a tool for empowerment, to connect our mind, body and surroundings from within.

 

After spending 8 years in Toronto, Canada, she moved to Hong Kong where she completed her first professional training with Dr. Yogananth Andiappan. Currently she is advancing her skills with Master Samrat Dasgupta. With over a decade of practice, Joanne is now a certified ERYT500 with RCYT, RPYT and YACEP. Outside of Yoga, she is also a certified NASM Personal Trainer, Polestar trained mat Pilates instructor, and Usui Reiki Master.
